Meet Anastasia
Introduction
Anastasia Ross is an experienced voice teacher, singer, and actor who is based in NYC. She began teaching private voice lessons in 2018, and has fallen in love with providing her students with the guidance and support they need to pursue their dreams. Whether you are a young learner or an adult looking to hone a long-held passion, Anastasia's experience in the field and ability to tailor her approach to meet the unique needs of each student can help you achieve your goals!
Education & Experience
Anastasia received her Bachelor’s of Music, with a concentration in Musical-Theater Performance, from James Madison University (2020). During her time at JMU, she was cast in more than a dozen productions, wrote, directed, and headlined in an original Cabaret ("Love & All That Jazz"), and received first place in the Virginia State National Association of Teachers of Singing Competition in the Musical Theater category (2018).
Post-graduation, Anastasia has spent her time performing in regional theater productions, teaching her private students, serving as her high school alma mater's Choir Director, and, most recently, settling into her new life in NYC!
A firm believer in constantly improving her craft, she is a current student of the Matt Farnsworth Vocal Studio, and continues to pursue her passion of performing. To learn more about Anastasia’s own artistry, you can browse her personal website.

What makes The Studio Anastasia different?
Anastasia recognizes that every individual is unique and needs material presented to them in a different manner.
No lesson is "one size fits all".
Science-Backed
Anastasia has a thorough understanding of vocal anatomy and the physical mechanics of singing.
During lessons, students learn to
control the muscles that will allow them
to optimize their sound and sing with ease.
With Anastasia, students become more in touch with their bodies and gain a better understanding of how sound is created.
Holistic
We use our voice to do more than sing.
It is the tool we use to express ourselves as we navigate our world.
Anastasia believes that in order to help a student find freedom in their singing, it is vital to take into account the person as a whole.
She encourages students to
explore the connection between their voice and the emotions they feel, the physical experiences they undergo, and the freedom they feel expressing themselves in day to day life.
Joy-Focused!
Anastasia encourages students to invite joy into their lesson time, and to notice the effect it has on their singing.
She teaches that the only way to improve is to try new things— even when the new things don't sound perfect at the beginning.
Students are encouraged to be brave, to make big, bold mistakes, and to not take themselves too seriously while doing it.
